Now you might think that real men never drink wine from a single serve bottle, and you would be right naturally. But someone does, and sales of single serving bottled wine have increase 17% to reach $ 75 million last year. Once only a staple of airline beverage carts and hotel mini-bars, single serve wine bottles are gaining wide-spread consumer appeal. According to Advertising Age (free registration required) younger consumer are driving sales, those who do not consider wine drinking a celebration of a special occasion. The smaller bottles also facilitate trial by people who are normally reluctant to purchase and serve a whole traditional bottle. And finally, single service wine bottles make the beverage more accessible in social settings where people are choosing multiple drink types.
