As it turns out, Wendy’s has decided to re-enter the breakfast menu business, a category they abandoned after a disastrous 1986 experiment. This makes sense because breakfast contributes 25% of sales to rival McDonald’s, and breakfast traffic is increasing industry-wide. Back in 1986, Wendy’s misjudged the market and offered elaborate sit-down breakfast meals.
