Marketing Blurb loves raisins more than the next pundit. We keep a vat of raisins available year around for grazing by the fist-full. We also try to sneak raisins into every recipe possible. As such, it isn’t really necessary for the California Raising Marketing Board to pitch us regarding the virtues of the fruit. But to reach the unconverted, the board is launching a new campaign this week, which promotes raisins as “Wise Choices,” for a convenient wholesome snack. The CRMB (an industry trade group for raisin growers and marketers) will commit $ 4.6 million to the advertising campaign which includes print, a new website, banner ads, a sweepstakes getaway to the Miramonte Resort and Spa in Southern California, and satellite media tour by celebrity fitness trainer Valerie Waters (shown here.) The campaign does not include the famous dancing California raisins from the 1980s—but trust us—raisins still have all the right moves.
