Marketing Blurb loves soup more than the next pundit. Of course, our wife cooks umpteen different intoxicating soups from scratch using a cornucopia of common and exotic ingredients. We secretly pine for winter just to enjoy the soups. But for those who eat soup from a can, you might as well try the low-sodium route. Campbell’s promises their new line of 31 soups, flavored with all-natural sea salt, are far more flavorful than
typical low-sodium. Campbell’s own research confirmed that consumers were disappointed with the bland flavor of some healthier food choices. But using sea salt, Campbell’s has lowered sodium levels by at least 25% for one-third of their US soup product line. Favorite flavors with lower sodium sea salt include Chicken Noodle, Tomato, and Cream of Mushroom. Soups with “kids appeal” are also included in the mix-Double Noodle, and Chicken and Stars also have 25% less sodium than previous batches. We learned about this from
