In the dog-eat-dog pet food business, you gotta have a gimmick. So Del-Monte has decided to mount a 33-city road show for their Pup-Peroni dog snacks. The Pup-Patrol Mobile Marketing Tour will stop at retailers, dog parks, festivals and local events such as baseball games, to distribute "Pup-Packs" with samples and coupons. Each tour
stop includes dog-related events to help raise money for local dog shelters. Our favorite is a Pup-Dates speed-dating (whatever that means.) Del-Monte is also collecting signatures for its Pup Manifesto, a petition for local governments to place fewer restrictions on dogs in public places. Those who sign the petition can register as Pup-Peroni “Angels” who promote the benefits of dog-friendly workplaces. While Marketing Blurb thinks this is a fine idea, we cannot recommend commercial grade dog treats. If you really want to reward Fido, order a bag of gourmet homemade dog biscuits with all-natural ingredients from Darby Creek Dog Bakery.
