Marketing Blurb believes in supporting charitable causes, and as such, we agree in principle with Share Our Strength, an organization dedicated to fighting childhood hunger and poverty. But we are less keen on this organization’s decision to partner with ABC for the
ABC Desperate for Dinner Sweepstakes. The sweepstakes challenges fans of the
Desperate Housewives television program to submit their best homemade
dinner recipe. The prize winner receives a basket of gourmet cooking items, complete with cooking utensils, spices, an autographed
Desperate Housewives Cookbook and a chance to compete in a national cook-off on
Good Morning America. The national cook-off includes working in the kitchen alongside a
Desperate Housewives cast member. For their part, ABC makes a donation of $ 50,000 to Share our Strength to fight childhood hunger.
