
Marketing Blurb loves product demonstrations. We’re not talking television infomercials, but in-store events with real manufacturer’s reps. As such, we are pumped for the Home Depot In-Store Expo 06, which features brand-sponsored demos in 1000 stores nationwide.(And yes, there are celebrity clinics in 20 stores—be we prefer the real deal.) Participants include LG and GE appliances, Thomasville
Cabinetry door inserts, Puresque carpeting and CFL light bulbs. (Replacing light bulbs is one of our specialties.) The Expo is supported with television, direct mail and print. Vendors love this venue to standout in an otherwise crowded and cluttered big box store. This year, the Home Depot website is hosting real-time online versions of the in-store clinics. There is also a virtual home tour that allows consumers to see featured products in a household setting. If you like what you see on the virtual tour, you can build a shopping list right on the site. If you need an incentive to pick up the hammer, MasterCard is support the Expo with a $ 100,000 Kitchen makeover sweepstakes.
