TMX Tickle Me Elmo. TMX stands for “tickle me ten” and “tickle me extreme.” You’ll recall that Tickle Me Elmo ignited an unexpected gotta have it toy Christmas shopping riots ten years ago. No toy has captured that much attention since. So Fisher Price has decided to keep the details of TMX Elmo under wraps until his formal debut on “Good Morning America” next Tuesday. Unlike normal toy launches, Fisher Price has restricted access to toy specifics. According to
The Wall Street Journal (paid registration required,) less than 50 people have seen the new Elmo. Normally, a 1000 or more retailers and buyers would receive advanced samples by this time. TMX Elmo will retail for $ 39.95, but there are already pre-release offers on eBay (sans details) for $ 99. Marketing Blurb hopes TMX Elmo is fun—the world could use some fun these days!
