After a hard day of working as a marketing pundit, Marketing Blurb often needs to repair our complexion at night. We are not really the target audience for Estee Launder’s Advanced Night Repair Concentrate anti-aging treatment, but we do think the product has a cool name. To product the product, Estee Lauder is adding online testimonials from a product website in addition to their traditional television campaign. Traditionally, women depended upon cosmetic trial (often from a department store brand consultant) to help them select the right product for their skin. But according to Marjorie Lau, vp of Estée Lauder Marketing North America, "Today, consumers are more savvy, more involved and do a lot of research online."  While the typical customer of Estee Lauder cosmetics is 40-ish, the company hopes web testimonials will attract a younger audience. (Why all cosmetic markers seek a younger audience is lost on Marketing Blurb—boomer women have all the money.) The new product will also be featured in a national mall tour.
