Now you might think that all extended-stay hotels are pretty much the same, and you would be right, naturally. But Westin Hotels has decided to change that perception with a new extended-stay hotel concept called Element. While still under construction, the Element brand will add trendy amenities to the extended stay traveler. The Element suite will include Westin’s Heavenly Bed, but also sport a larger kitchen with stainless steel appliances, gourmet pantries, and customized closets with compartments and shelving for shoes and garments. The décor is modern and residents have access to workout facilities and personal trainers. Oh, and the facilities are smoke-free but filled with Westin’s signature scent of white tea. The first Element will open in Lexington, MA with 25 new hotels per year planned through 2011. Westin is also shopping the concept in Asia and Europe. So, next time you must book an extended-stay hotel, convince the boss you need to scent of white tea to be productive. Photo Credit: Westin Element
