Marketing Blurb does not have much time to watch the Food Network—we are too busy eating. Our son knows all the food network shows and celebrities because he watches everything on television. But we do know that cooking on television is huge, and as such, the Food Network has their own line of kitchen products, tableware and linens. We just learned for USA Today, that Kohl’s Department stores is adopting the Food Network product line next fall. Kohl’s is taking a page from the Target playbook by adding exclusive designer merchandise to their product assortment. Adding Ralph Lauren Chaps, Candies shoes, and Estee Lauder products, for example is credited with helping Kohl’s rebound from a sales slump in 2004. The Food Network boasts 35 million viewers, and Kohl’s believes their products will be the ideal addition to their already-thriving home-goods department. Marketing Blurb wonders whether the network will send anyone to our neighborhood Kohl’s to whip up a batch of something next time we go shopping.
