The National Retail Federation projects consumers will spend $ 4.96 billion on Halloween this year—up from $ 3.29 billion just last year. If you want to upstage the neighbors consider an 8-foot inflatable “snow” globe with swirling ghosts and a life-size grim reaper—available from K-Mart. The NRF says you will likely outfit your children as princesses (4 million kids) pirates (1.7 million) and witches (1.7 million.) And admit it, 34% of adults will don costumes as well. Marketing Blurb promises to eat some candy corn to grease the wheels of the consumer economy.
