Marketing Blurb avoids McDonald’s like the plague, so we missed the introduction of their new single-serving milk jugs. These re-sealable 8-ounce plastic jugs are selling like crazy at McDonald’s, Burger King, and Wendy’s. Subway is testing the containers as well. McDonald’s offers both low fat white and chocolate milk in containers which
feature an illustration of Ronald surfing. McDonald’s normally sells about 625,000 single-serve units of milk weekly in their old cardboard containers. The new plastic milk jugs are selling at the rate of 4.25 million units per week. McDonald’s, Wendy’s and other restaurants are promoting the new milk jugs on television. McDonald’s staff is trained to ask Happy Meal customers, "Would you like low-fat white or chocolate milk with your order?" The re-sealable bottles have an added benefit—they fit down inside auto cup holders.
Marketing Blurb believes the federal government should adopt these mini jugs for their infamous “Got Milk?” campaign which has not increased milk consumption for 20-years now.
