Now you might think that Hugh Hefner, founder of
Playboy magazine, died years ago along with the magazine, and you would be wrong, naturally. The relevancy of the magazine has indeed evaporated, but Hugh is still around in silk pajamas and his signature smoking jacket. In fact Gen Xers who have never even heard of Hugh, think
he looks retro cool in this 1950s wardrobe. And so now is an ideal time for Hugh and Playboy enterprise to introduce a new line of licensed menswear. According to
Reuters, the T-shirts, jackets, and swimwear all feature variations of the Playboy bunny logo. Designers said they tried to envision and capture a young Hugh Hefner in defining the look. Smoking jackets are included, but the product line emphasizes suits and fitted jackets with patterned linings. Licensing deals are keeping the bunny hopping.
