You remember patriot John Hancock, right? He signed the US Declaration of Independence with bold oversized script to make sure King George III could read his name. Any you certainly know John Hancock Financial Services, that stalwart American—ah—make that—stalwart Canadian company that manages retirement investments. Well, we learned for The New York Times, (free registration required,) that John Hancock is releasing their first new advertising campaign in a decade. The theme is a simple one intended to remind investors of their strategies to build, sustain and protect wealth—“At John Hancock, the future is yours.” And for the first time, the company is venturing into new media with a dedicated website at www.jhthefutureisyours.com. We think this slogan is somewhat generic, but the campaign does include the iconic rich white grandfather enjoying his grandchildren on a sweeping coastline. Photo Credit: John Hancock
