Wired magazine arrived in the mail yesterday. We can always count on wired for provocative editorial and noteworthy advertising. This month, Apple computer tipped in an accordion-fold booklet explaining why you will love a Mac. The ad headline asks readers to consider the difference between a PC and Mac (yes, this is
similar to the television campaign, but without characters.) Here’s the copy that caught our attention: "PCs are fro the stuff we have to do, like pie charts and spreadsheets. Macs are for the stuff we want to do, like photos, music, and movies.” The copy goes on to explain that PCs crash and Macs work just fine. The attached booklet then illustrates how Macs are more fun than PCs. Of course in a pinch, you can also now run Windows XP on a Mac.
Marketing Blurb enjoyed this advertisement, and we wish we had a Mac. When our generic Window box gives up the ghost, we will give Mac serious consideration.
