Marketing Blurb loves spinach. We love fresh spinach, cooked spinach, or spinach dried and rolled for smoking (we’re kidding on that last one.) But like everyone else, our diet is sans spinach until after the US Food and Drug Administration gives spinach the green light. But as you might expect, spinach growers are trying to plan ahead now for a brighter future. Dole foods, and two major spinach grower associations realize they
must regain consumer confidence before they can promote the traditionally popular vegetable. According to
Media Post Publications (free registration required,) Dole will likely unveil their own "spinach is back" campaign at point-of-sale, and with radio, television, newspaper and PR once the crop is deemed safe for the food supply. The United Fresh Produce Association, and the Produce Marketing Association are willing to join forces for a public service campaign, but they do not have a budget or an agency of record to tackle the details.
Marketing Blurb urges an agency to step forward, pro bono, to craft a campaign for these associations. Think of this as a contribution to green marketing.
