No, Six Flags is not really promoting cockroaches. But the theme park is drawing national attention from a bizarre promotion that offers patrons a chance to move to the front of the line if they eat a live Madagascar hissing cockroach. This is a Halloween-themed promotion, see--and well--it seemed like a good idea in the creative meeting, anyway. This deal is aptly called A Cockroach is Your Ticket to the Front of the Line. We’ve heard about this on the radio umpteen times in just the last few days. Now as your might expect, PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has issued a formal protest to Six Flags on behalf of the aggrieved cockroaches. No, cockroaches are not animals, and we believe PETA has bigger fish to fry (are they allowed to fry fish?) Oh, and cockroaches have lived for millions of years without any help from human advocacy groups.
