
My name is Eric Mattson and I'm the new blogger for MarketingBlurb. I'm excited to be joining the Know More Media team and bringing you the best of the marketing blogosphere & beyond.
As the former head of direct marketing, market research and marketing analytics for a major wholesale clothing company, I certainly bring some "old school" marketing skills to the table. But I've also embraced the social media revolution as host of one of the leading marketing podcasts on the Internet - MarketingMonger.
I'm also blazing new trails in the academic research around social media in partnership with Professor Nora Barnes of the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. Our most recent paper, "Thinking Like A Blogger: Is Blogging An Attitude That Can Be Taught?", was the lead article in the Journal of New Communications Research (Fall 2006).
