
However, the answer from my recent research into blogging and the attitudes surrounding it is...no. But why then, you might ask, is there so much hype around blogging?
Because blogs are extremely useful at helping humanize a business (and because hype makes for better headlines). The key thing to understand is that the appealing traits of blogs - transparency, frequency, honesty, openness and a human "voice" - are not restricted exclusively to blogging. Those traits, according to the 80 expert bloggers we surveyed, are what really matters. They can be used on a blog, website, brochure, email newsletter or sales call with equal effectiveness.
