I'm in the middle of reading Hardball, a well-regarded (4 stars and 32 reviews on Amazon) tome about business strategy from George Stalk and Rob Lachenauer.
The book's basic premise is that if you want to win in the business world, you need to play "hardball." Doing so has nothing to do with being mean or vicious but instead means a laser-like focus on building competitive advantage.
Building competitive advantage is something that we may often overlook because we're focused on day-to-day execution but it is crucial to the long-term health of your company.
So, I ask you...
Are you doing enough to build competitive advantage?
Are you playing hardball?
