
I called Comcast yesterday because I wanted to upgrade my high-speed Internet service (i.e. give them more money). After explaining my request, I was informed that because of the special promotional deal that I was on, I couldn't get that upgrade right now.
If I was willing to call back after my promotional deal expired (months from now), I would be able to add it at that time.
Are you kidding me?
Earth to Comcast...PLEASE LET ME GIVE YOU MY MONEY!
The lesson here for marketers is that little details like this matter. If you don't design your promotional systems well, you could be turning money away.
