Many entrepreneurs don't have a lot of money. For marketing or product development or silly things like health insurance. And many marketers don't have as much money as they'd like. So marketing on the cheap is a good skill to have.
The biggest thing to understand about marketing on the cheap is that you must basically assume your time is free. (Chances are you don't have a way to magically turn a free hour here and there into revenue.)
Now, assuming you have some time and no money to do marketing with, where do you start?
Brilliant strategy is free but takes time.
A good brand is free but takes time.
Better copywriting is free but takes time.
Participating in the blogosphere is free but takes time.
Email and phone calls to all your current customers are free but take time.
Email and phone calls to prospects are free but take time.
Smiles are free and take no time.
What can you do with a little extra time but no money to improve your marketing?
