Steve Rubel recently highlighted some findings by the eBiquity Research Group on the state of SPAM in the blogosphere.
* 53% of all pings is spam, 64% of all pings from blogs in English is spam
* 56% of all pinging blogs are spam
* Blogspot continues to be heavily spammed
* Most spam blogs are still hosted in the US
While these stats are interesting for marketing number junkies like myself, I just don't find myself getting that excited about their long-term impact. Why?
Because our personal filters keep getting better and better. Email SPAM makes up the vast majority of email sent. Do I get much in my inbox? Almost none.
Do I have confidence that search engines, blog platforms and smart entrepreneurs will conquer the problem of blog spam? Yes.
