It's been widely reported across the blogosphere that only 6 of the 17 declared candidates in the 2008 presidential race have bought keyword-based ads on search engines.
I don't get it. How can they not be marketing more intelligently online?
They certainly have the money. These candidates will raise tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars over the course of their campaigns. Many of them are personally wealthy and will start the race with a substantial war chest of personal funds. ![]()
They're supposed to be smart. After all, they're proposing that they should lead an economic superpower into the 21st century and try to solve huge problems like surging healthcare costs, the civil war in Iraq, falling educational performance and more.
They're supposed to be good judges and recruiters of talent. Even if they aren't online marketing experts, I would hope and pray that they've hired some savvy people to run that aspect of their campaign. Just like they're going to (hopefully) select some great people to fill out the executive branch.
I just don't understand.

Hmmmm...maybe not all of the presidential candidates for the 2008 presidential race and their campaign managers are aware at all of the importance and the power of internet marketing. Maybe they can't catch up with the shifting technology..hehe
