The Four Levels of Marketing Effort from Seth Godin

Seth Godin recently blogged about the 4 different levels of marketing effort: No Effort, Right Effort, Too Much Effort, and No (Apparent) Effort. Novice and hardworking entrepreneurs get through the no effort level fairly easily but they often overcompensate and end up in the too much effort box.

Really smart entrepreneurs start at the right effort box and because they have a plan, good branding and a great product/service end up at the no (apparent) level. But regardless understanding these concepts is the first step to enlightenment.

So go read Seth's post and then meditate on it a little.
