Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer opens on Friday, June 15, 2007. That's perfect timing for Father's Day. What better way could there be to do a little personal marketing and boost your shares with Dad then to take him to see the lovely Jessica Alba as Sue Storm in the newest Fantastic Four movie?
Can't afford a flat screen TV for Dad? Don't want to get Dad another tie? Luckily, 20th Century Fox is looking out for last minute shoppers by releasing Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer just in time. I'm not sure if they planned the release date to coincide with Father's Day weekend, but if they did, it was a clever marketing strategy. I can see the conversation now:
Wife: Dear, it's Father's Day. What do you want to do to celebrate?
Husband: Oh, I don't know. How about a movie?
Child: Yeah!
Wife: Okay, what would you like to see?
Husband: Well, the new Fantastic Four movie just came out. I love Marvel comics. How about that?
Wife: Whatever you want, Honey. It's your day.
Kudos to you 20th Century Fox. Your marketing team gets an A+.
