Lipton White Tea: The New Healthy Drink

It seems like the marketing team behind every product is looking for ways to appear more health-conscious.  Rather than tinkering with their tried-and-true product formulations, marketers are looking for brand extension opportunities.  Lipton is jumping on the bandwagon with Lipton White Tea with Raspberry and Lipton Diet White Tea with Raspberry.Lipton%20White%20Tea.jpg

The first feature consumers will notice about Lipton White Tea is that it's colorless.  In consumers' minds, clear liquids are typically related with purity, so the colorless choice is appropriate.  The next feature consumers will notice is that Lipton White Tea includes antioxidants (called flavonoids in Lipton tea) offering a multitude of health-related benefits.

Lipton is advertising their White Tea with copy that says, "Lipton Iced Tea is great tasting and good for you because it is rich in protective antioxidants. This is the perfect drink for your active, healthy lifestyle. It's available in plastic bottles so you can take it anywhere!  It's a new light, clean taste of white tea with just the right touch of Raspberry like no other!"

This copy clearly hypes Lipton White Tea's differentiators and benefits.  Will people be persuaded to buy it?  I have to assume there is a large market of health-conscious consumers who will be attracted to the antioxidants in Lipton White Tea, but ultimately, the taste will have to be good for Lipton to get repeat business.

Have you tried Lipton White Tea?  What do you think about the new focus on antioxidants that's carrying into products like iced tea that most people don't typically associate with healthiness?  Lipton currently controls has about a 10% market share of the world's tea business.  Do you think they'll gain some market share with this new product introduction?

Hey,

There’s a terrible condition washing over the country called Indooritis, and my agency was hired by Lipton to get bloggers to join the fight. We hope you’ll encourage your readers to visit www.FightIndooritis.com, or at least get their friends to head outside and breathe some actual air.

Thank you for your support,
Aditya

That's why I left the north and moved to Florida. Now, I go outside all year!

My husband is a diabetic and he loves these in the diet type Raspberry drinks. We buy lots of them.

It does sound like a great option for a diabetic, and I'm glad to hear it tastes good!

A friend found some new Lipton Wite Tea Rasberry at publix near the checkout counter and bought it for me-
I drank the first case over one weekend and have tried to buy it several places since . Publix was out today an I am so disappointed. Walgreens in Oklahoma city had it a few weeks ago so when I was there on a business trip I bought it there- I hope it isnt being discontinued- I hdo not know where else it is sold in my area of Daytona beach but I love it- if anyone has
suggestions let me know

Phyllis, I hope you can find the iced tea soon! I have to find some and give it a try. So far, everyone who has tried it really likes it!

Super Walmart and Target are the best places to buy...they sell in packages of 12 for about $6.

Thank you for letting MarketingBlurb's readers know the best places to buy Lipton White Tea!

Diet Lipton White Tea with Rasberry--- A great drink...we are absolutely delighted by the taste and it does not leave that 'diet' drink aftertaste. Another positive is that it got my teenage daughter off sodas and now she only drinks as part of her daily intake.

I just cant believe is has nothing bad in it, but it tastes so sweet and good!! Can someone tell me how this is

What's the sugar content of these like though?

I just bought some of the Lipton White Tea with Raspberry and it tastes great! Don't really care one way or the other about the antioxidants. It tastes good and quenches my thirst. I'll be buying more!!

I originally tried Diet Lipton White Tea (Raspberry) because, well, I wanted to quit drinking sodas.
I never drank many, but even one soda is too many, in my opinion. I only drank sodas because I craved something sweet, since all I drink is water.
Well, I saw it at my local WalMart and decided "well, I like white tea, and this says it's diet, what the heck" and went ahead and bought it.
After letting a couple of bottles chill in my fridge overnight, I finally drank one the next day and it was amazing. I absolutely could not believe that it has ZERO calories, it tasted sooo good.
I now cannot live without this drink. I drink 1-2 a day, to satisfy my sweet-drink cravings, and always make sure I have some chilled in the fridge.
And for the people who can't find it where they live- why not try requesting it at your local grocery store? They might stock up on it if they get requests for it.

Our High School son came home with a couple of bottles after they started selling them in the vending machines. He and all his friends LOVE it, as do his Father and I.And as the kids quickly found out, they could drink those at lunch, and feel energized all day, instead of having a sugar high for a few hours, then crashing and getting sleepy, so obviously the "healthy" benefits are there. Both of us watching our sugar, carbs and cholesterol levels.
They DO TASTE AMAZING.....even the diet is delicious!
But as was stated above, I'd love to know HOW MUCH, if any Caffeine is in them.

here's the answer to the caffeine question. 28 mg per bottle (don't be fooled by the listing of 14 mg per 8 ounces, it's a 16 ounce bottle.

I am working my way through a case, but really slowly. My complaints: Heavyhandedness with citric acid, raspberry flavor and oversweetening hide tea taste. I don't think I'll buy a second case.
