Let the Crystal Ball Guide Your Marketing and Business Decisions

Move over Magic 8 Ball, the Ambient Orb is here.

When I came across a post on Glorby.com about the crystal ball of the 21st century from Ambient Devices, I had to stop and take a closer look.Ambient%20Orb%20Crystal%20Ball.jpg

The Ambient Orb has been compared to a mood ring that can be plugged into the stock market or just about anything else you'd like to track.  The Ambient Orb is a wireless gadget that comes out of the box preset to track the Dow Jones Industrial Average.  Just pop it on your desk and you can stay on top of the overall market, a single stock or your individual portfolio ups and downs (custom portfolio tracking does cost an additional $6.95 per month).  The orb glows red when the market goes down, yellow when the market is stable and green when the market goes up.

The Ambient Orb can also be configured to track a variety of other things like local weather, pollen counts, windspeeds, traffic congestion and the profitability of news events through its NewsFutures' channel.  Users can simply visit MyAmbient.com to configure their Ambient Orb to track whatever they choose.

So next time you're not sure where to take your marketing strategy, don't stress about it.  Just take a look at your Ambient Orb.  Of course, I'm kidding, but the Ambient Orb would certainly make a great conversation piece!  At $150 though, the price is steep, but I wouldn't be surprised to find one on a few desks in the future.

What do you think about the Ambient Orb?

Can you calibrate it to the mood of your spouse? Just kidding! I think it's a great idea and very clever to be able to program it to whatever most interests/concerns you. Yet another thing I wish I'd thought of.

Scott, I'm glad you found the crystal ball amusing as well. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to share it with MarketingBlurb readers. It gave me a good laugh, and it's actually interesting, too. It's a great novelty item that can actually give you "information at a glance."
