It seems like every company is looking for ways to succeed with viral marketing. I've been so intrigued by the many campaigns hitting the web lately. Today, my eyes are on Southern Comfort's new viral marketing attempt at their website, SoCoNightInstitute.com.![]()
Here's how Southern Comfort describes its site:
"Every night deserves the chance to be legendary. That's why Southern Comfort® opened the SoCo Night Institute, the only learning resource dedicated to helping you unlock the potential in every night."
Once you enter the site, you're told:
"The SoCo Night Institute provides adults with the knowledge and skills they need to turn their weak, lame nights into the stuff of legend. Share your wisdom."
The site offers a variety of courses to help users learn to make the most of their nights out including, "Dancing with a Drink in Your Hand" and "Bar Bets - Olive This Trick." By taking the online courses, users can earn points which can be redeemed for downloads from Rhapsody.com. Users can also create their own courses and submit their own tips.
As usual, I wonder how effective this viral marketing campaign will work? Will it generate enough buzz to make the investment worthwhile? What do you think?
