Just when we thought there was no hope to save the Britney Spears brand, her marketing team comes up with a new Britney perfume called Believe. Call me cynical, but I find it hard to believe this new perfume will generate the sales that a product bearing Britney's name would have five years ago. I'm sure there are still some Britney Spears fans out there who will buy it, but I still question this business move.![]()
Is it just me or wouldn't a more effective timeline have placed repairing the damage done to Britney Spears' brand before launching a new perfume with her name on it? Of course, that just seems like common sense, but I guess when celebrities are involved common sense often gets thrown out the window.

The tagline used on the ad for Britney Spears' Believe perfume reads, "The greatest freedom is to believe in yourself." I suppose that's true when everyone else has all but given up on you.
Who knows. Maybe I'm wrong and Believe will be the next IT product, but for some reason, I just don't think that's going to happen. What do you think? Does Believe have a chance?

of course it has a chance.....the truth is that people are intrigued by her. for example after the VMA's people said career over now she has the number 1 song on itunes? how does that happen with no promotion at all?...also if it smells good who cares what she does in real life. It is just perfume.
