Kudos to Greg Verdino and his team at Crayon for creating a great graphic and explanation of what they have dubbed the seven strands of blog DNA. Greg explains that the seven elements combine together in a unique way to, "make any blog what it is."
Looking at the creative approach Crayon created to visually describe the key attributes of a blog, I'm very interested to see more from them.
Greg and his team at Crayon (a new marketing company, of which Greg is the Chief Strategy Officer) developed these seven elements of blogs:
- Voice
- Texture
- Immediacy
- Conversation
- Connectivity
- Accessibility
- Visibility
Greg explains each of the seven elements of blog DNA in a post on his own blog and asks other bloggers to consider how we can combine those elements to, "produce something that is uniquely yours and that keeps your readers coming back for more."
If you haven't seen Greg's post yet, take a few minutes to read it. He's also looking for people to leave comments to help the Crayon team improve the seven strands of blog DNA. You can see my comment related to expanding the "texture" element here. Can you think of anything else to add?

Thanks for picking this up Susan and thanks for your feedback at my blog (a good addition.) I look forward to seeing the other ideas your community can add. G
