A recent study by comScore determined that 53% of consumers visit online coupon websites regularly to find promotions. Are you one of them? I can't say that I visit coupon sites regularly, but I try to remember to check for an online coupon on a coupon website before I complete an online transaction. I don't always remember to take the extra minute or two to check for an online coupon code, but I try. I've saved a lot of money with those sites.![]()
There was a time when using a coupon site meant users had to sign up and agree to get a plethora of unsolicited email in order to access the coupon codes. That's no longer the case. Additionally, many online coupon websites now offer not only discount codes for online purchases but also printable coupons for in-store purchases.
In an article on Yahoo! Finance from Market Watch, writer Marshall Loeb recommends CouponMountain.com as a great site for consumers to find coupons saying it's easy to navigate and does not require registration. He also recommends Coupons.com for grocery discounts.
I haven't tried either of those sites, but I think I'll definitely check them out. I usually check for discount codes and printable coupons at CouponCabin.com. You can search by store name or category.
Now it's time for you to confess. Do you use online coupon sites? If so, which ones do you like?
And from a marketing perspective what do you think? Is speculation about coupon websites growing in 2008 due to the faltering economy valid?

I'm a big coupon user. I estimate that we save several thousand dollars each year due to coupons.
