It seems like more and more products are adding vitamins, antioxidants and herbs to their products in an attempt to make them seem healthier to consumers. Now, Breyers has launched a new product that tries to turn yogurt into a healthier snack food.![]()
Unilever Ice Cream, the maker of Breyers, says their new Breyers Light nonfat yogurt is enriched with a special natural probiotic clinically proven to help strengthen the body's immune system. It contains just 7 grams of sugar per serving, and only 80 calories as well as extra amounts of vitamins A and D and calcium.
I can see the ads now. In the cold winter months when flu season is running rampant, reach for a Breyers Light nonfat yogurt with probiotics and fight those germs away!
What do you think of this trend whereby companies add extra vitamins, etc. to their products to make them seem healthier? At least yogurt is a healthier snack alternative than many other foods to begin with, but is it really that much healther with these mysterious probiotics?
Are these products actually healthy? Do the benefits outweigh the negatives? How much Breyers Light nonfat yogurt with special natural probiotics and extra Vitamin A and D and calcium does one have to eat to significantly boost their immune systems? Should there be regulations related to these types of claims? It's an interesting debate.

What I would like to know is when is Breyers coming out with Frozen Yogurt like everyone else...???????
