Beyonce Knowles isn't afraid to use her well-known brand name and image to help boost sales for her mother's clothing line, House of Dereon. In fact, she posed for a recent ad campaign (some of the images also appear on the Dereon website) to draw some attention to what may otherwise be just another clothing ad.
I actually like these ads, not so much because Beyonce is in them but because the colors are bright and really catch your attention in print publications. I think the framed pictures in the ad on top (is that Beyonce's mother in the one on the far right?) are a bit cheesey as are the huge crowns worn by the models in the ad on the bottom (also the image on the Dereon website), but again, I like the colors.
One more thing, is it just me or does the overtly multi-racial ad look a bit like the Spice Girls? Do you think that was done on purpose?

I do like the colors in those ads. They remind me very much of the Baby Phat ads with Kimora Lee Simmons. They always had colors that popped.
And yes that ad does look a bit Spice Girls-ish.
