Creative Business Card Advertising

While browsing through Digg today, I came across a post that demonstrates a great use of copywriting and a creative marketing concept on a business card.  On a post at EricBramlett.com, a realtor's business card is posted.  Actually, the realtor has three variations of his business card each with a different amusing photo and tagline.

Take a look at the business cards for Frank Borges Llosa at Frankly Realty:

These business cards definitely made me laugh.  I think they tell customers that it's okay to have some fun when you're house hunting and they will certainly stand out from all the other realtor business cards people collect.  I think that's the most important thing to notice.  These cards will get noticed.

Kudos to Frank for injecting some of his personality into his business cards.  I also think it's great that Frank maintains a blog for Frankly Realty.  Way to leverage the social web!

What do you think?

Very catchy business cards. I actually used to have my picture on my business cards too. Very expensive and I'm not quite sure if it enhanced business or not. Not sure.

Bridget, I would ordinarily advise against putting your picture on your business card because it wastes valuable space where you could list the benefits and differentiators of your business, but that's the copywriter in my talking.

I think it might be a bit different for realtors because the norm is to include a picture of the agent on the business card. I think we'd need a realtor to chime in here who is familiar with handing out business cards with and without a picture of the agent to see how it affects that business since it might be a bit different. An argument could be made that customers expect to see a picture, so not meeting their expectations could be a problem. Again, I'm not sure in that market.

For Frank's cards pictured above, I think he did a great job of injecting humor and his personality into what are usually dull business cards. I'm not sure in the real estate market if the cards will drive business or not, but they gave me a good laugh. I'd call Frank. If he knows his stuff, he'd not only get the job done, but he also seems fun to work with. So much of being a good realtor is about your relationship with your clients that I think his approach might work.

Thanks for making me thing about this some more, Bridget.
