Fast Company is one of the latest companies to embrace user-generated content. Fast Company added a Business Network to its website where users can publish blog posts, participate in forums and ask and answer questions.
Fast Company touts it as an opportunity for everyday people to participate in new media by having their content sit alongside traditional journalism. I don't know about that, but I do think Fast Company's new Business Network provides a variety of opportunities for business people and marketers.
First, Fast Company's Business Network provides a great place for business people to network online. It's very targeted and the perfect place to not just network but also promote yourself and your business. That leads to the second opportunity Fast Company's Business Network provides - it's a great place to find a targeted business audience for marketing initiatives.
I'm sure we'll see more and more social networks like Fast Company's Business Network joining the social web in the future. What do you think?
You can read more about Fast Company's entrance into the social web in the guest post I wrote for Buzz Networker today called Fast Company Joins the Social Networking Bandwagon.
