The 2008 Consumer Electronics Show included a variety of new designer, stylish PCs that should appeal to specific target audiences. Some of them are actually very cool, and I can imagine the price tags that go along with them can be quite high.
From leather to Swarovski crystals to Lamborghini branding, fashion PCs spare no expense to appeal to the fashion-conscious, trend-setters among us.

Fashion PCs aren't a new thing, but the embellishments and costs keep getting higher. It's interesting to see the various brands that are being extended to PCs like Lamborghini. That one seems a bit far-fetched. The extensions don't stop there either. For example, there is a also a matching purse that goes with the cow print fashion PC above.
What do you think of fashion PCs?

I think these personalizations are a nice touch, similar to the "skins" you can add to mobile devices, although many PC aficionados have been building their own PCs and customizing their interior and/or exterior appearance for quite some time. These modifications or "mods" even go to the extreme of fabricating or using unconventional items as the case of the computer and has even branched into the computer becoming as much about art as function. One of my personal favorites, is a steampunk style that looks like something that Jules Verne's Captain Nemo would have used on the Nautilus:

There are also companies that will build a custom PC that looks more like sculpture than the drab appliance we are most used to. Suissa Computer has a beautiful line (http://www.suissacomputers.com/collection.htm), but I'll probably have to win the lottery before buying my own.
