According to eMarketer, a study by Synovate and MarketingDaily shows that ads on blogs are getting noticed by blog readers. It's no secret that learning to leverage the power of blogs and bloggers should be an important part of a business' marketing plans, but it's exciting news to hear that blog ads might actually be working - at least we know from this study that they're getting noticed.

Check out the numbers from the eMarketer chart above. 47.4% of men claimed they noticed ads on blogs compared to 39.4% of women. Looking further you'll see that younger audiences notice ads on blog even more topping off at 61.7% of people aged 18-24. Those are encouraging numbers to say the least!
Given that advertising on blogs is still a fairly inexpensive advertising investment and that blogs offer an incredible niche advertising opportunity, I think it's evident that if you're not already researching advertising on blogs, you should start now!
What do you think of blog advertising? Do you do it? What works for you?

As a marketer, it’s always nice to hear that ads are working. The numbers look great but I’m wondering whether the people who notice the ads are the ones who are meant to see them. Are we reaching our target audience? At the moment, we don’t really know. Unlike print media—who use media audits to confirm who sees their pages—the Internet doesn’t have an audience tracking system. My team and I have been involved with www.buysafemedia.com, a site that talks about the value of media auditing. While it discusses print media, I believe that the same principles are applicable to all media outlets.
