I'm not sure if the Mentos marketing team meant to completely repulse its audience with its new commercial, but that's the reaction my husband and I saw after watching the newest Mentos commercial last night.  In fact, when it ended, I was speechless (and not in a good way), and my husband said, "Did she just drink his mouth juice?" To which I responded, I don't know, but I'm completely grossed out right now."  For that reason, I have to think this Mentos ad is a failure.

When I saw it last night, I didn't even get it.  I had to watch it again today on YouTube to realize the actress got water from the man who apparently had a mouthful of something liquified rather than from the water cooler next to him.  Again, all I can say is gross!

So what do you think? 

I'm talking about the ad, so I suppose it's caused a buzz, but it's not a good buzz.  I feel like I'm listening to that episode of Seinfeld, "There's good naked, and there's bad naked.  This is bad naked."  But instead of nudity, we're talking about Mentos flavored mouth juice.  One more time, gross!
