Want to live in San Diego, California? How about a buy one house, get one house free deal? With builders and sellers struggling to unload inventory, a crazy marketing scheme like this one just might work.
According to an article from Reuters today, Michael Crews Development will give away a $400,000, 2,000 square foot row home with the purchase of a $1.6 million luxury estate home in Escondido, California.
Developer Michael Crews explained his hair-brained scheme saying, "We are targeting a niche market of investors who are interested in the opportunity to buy a new home for themselves and get a free rental property or second home for family members."
The offer was supposed to run for two weeks in May, but it's been extended through June. So far, no one has taken the bait.
What do you think about this marketing promotion? Brilliant or crazy?

Congratulations Susan! I'm going to pick that up ASAP. :)
