Here's an interesting new move demonstrating serious brand loyalty. Fans of the television show Jericho were so upset when their beloved program was canceled that they started a campaign to bring it back. The unusual part? They bought over 200 ad spots on cable TV in the Los Angeles area and placed a print ad in Variety in an attempt to find another network to pick Jericho up.![]()
The group of fans behind the campaign call themselves the Jericho Rangers. They started a fundraising campaign to pay for the ads and raised $6,000 in just three weeks. The ads will be shown during popular cable shows such as the Sci-Fi Channel's Ghost Hunters and Deadliest Catch on the Discovery Channel.
According to SciFi.com, Jericho's fate has been on shaky ground since day one. It was canceled after just one season then resurrected by CBS after fans inundated CBS with bags of nuts in an attempt to convince CBS that there was a fan base for the show. CBS acquiesced but then canceled Jericho again after just seven episodes leading to the Jericho Rangers ad campaign.
I think this is so interesting, and I can't wait to see if it works. What do you think? Will an ad campaign have a chance at convincing another network to pick up Jericho? I never watched Jericho, but it sounds like the people who did see it are very loyal to it. Your predictions?

I am continously amazed at the amount of time, money and effort the fans spend trying to save their show. Even the actors and the producers have helped by autographing items to be sold on Ebay - everytime you turn around there is something "new" happening with the Rangers! Can't wait to see if this works!!!
