Barack Obama declared victory today as the Democratic Presidential Nominee for the 2008 election, and a short list of possible Democratic Vice Presidents has already been published by the Associated Press. Who made the cut? Check out the names and faces below:

Now, let's take a look at the ages of some of the people on the short list of Democratic Vice Presidential candidates:
- Joseph Biden (age 65)
- Wesley Clark (age 63)
- Hillary Clinton (age 60)
- Chris Dodd (age 64)
- Chuck Hagel (age 61)
- Tom Kaine (age 50)
- Sam Nunn (age 69)
- Ed Rendell (age 64)
- Bill Richardson (age 60)
- Kathleen Sebelius (age 60)
- Ted Strickland (age 66)
- Jim Webb (age 62)
My first reaction - it seems counter to the Obama message of change to have a list of Vice Presidential candidates that is heavily balanced toward people who have been around the political arena for awhile. Certainly, voters have expressed concern over Obama's inexperience, but it will be interesting to see the political PR spin machine work as it rebrands the chosen Vice Presidential running mate (assuming it's someone from this list) into a political figure that stands for and supports Obama's feel-good message of change.
What do you think?

It's fast times at Obama High School (all over again).
