Thinking Inside the Box
Marketing Blurb loves computers, but we’re just too busy to geek around with our applecubestore.jpgdesktop or laptop these days. We keep reading Walt Mossberg’s column at The Wall Street Journal, and we know we should really have a Mac. But to be honest, like many folks, we just lust for a Mac, we really have no need for a Mac. But if we lived in Manhattan, we would certainly visit the new Apple Cube Store. The store is due to open on May 19th, and Apple is running a live count-down clock on their website. If you visit the store during the grand opening you get a commemorative t-shirt, and their will be other as yet unnamed prizes. Apple is the king of hype—so get in line now!

Shakira Oral Fixation Tour
Okay, at the risk of huge embarrassment, Marketing Blurb is going out on a limb to admit we have never heard of pop singer Shakira. The five-time grammy award-winner travels with a different crowd than we do. But we know... Continue Reading

On the Cover of Rolling Stone 1000
Marketing Blurb has never appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. While we are disappointed, we are delighted that the magazine decided to celebrate their 1000th issue with a special 3D cover. The cover photograph pays homage to the... Continue Reading

Bud and Bit to Co-exist for World Cup Soccer
Marketing Blurb is not a soccer fan. We have nothing against the game mind you—there is just a limit to the sports any one pundit can ingest. But we do know that Anheuser-Busch was delighted to score with Bud as... Continue Reading
Adidas Argues Four Inch Fault
Marketing Blurb loves tennis. We even used to play until our son could trounce us so savagely we decided to retire. So we watch the game instead, and we’re dazzled by today’s talented players. So we were amused to learn... Continue Reading

Prom Dresses and Such
You’ve heard Marketing Blurb complain about slovenly business attire. Well, tonight is prom night in our neighborhood, and we just enjoyed a fashion show without compare. We didn’t know it was prom night because our children are grown, but the... Continue Reading

Hey All You—Shape Up!
Six brands are coming together this weekend to host “Fresh Start for Spring” in 1000 Wal-Mart stores. The brands are Weight Watchers, Suave, Nature Made, Mott's, Sunkist and WD-40. (How many of these products will loosen that rusty screw?) This... Continue Reading

We’re Still Not Attending the Email Insider Summit
You’ll recall that our former friends at Media Post sent us an invitation to attend an email marketing seminar at a posh Arizona resort at their expense—airfare, conference fee, and hotel. They revoked the invitation within hours, saying it was a mistake,... Continue Reading

Marketing Blurb regrets that we missed the official Betty Crocker Bake and Take Day on March 25th. The event has its origins as a community service project. Participants bake their favorite dishes and then hand deliver them to someone special,... Continue Reading

Marketing Earth Day
Marketing Blurb wants to steer clear of the whole global warming debate. We don’t know much about green house gases--we just know that weather world-wide is going to hell. So now seems like a great time to jump on the... Continue Reading
